Portfolio of Hope

When you were younger, did you imagine that your life would’ve turned out like this? Going from appointment to appointment, in and out of hospital? I know from my own experience that the answer will inevitably be no, you did not. When I was younger, like most little girls, I dreamt of becoming a professional ballet dancer. I was care-free, taking life in my stride. Everyday waking up to the promise of a new adventure. So, how did that care-free little girl end up like this? Riddled with anxiety and guilt around food. The fact is that there is no answer, I guess it’s just a risk we face when we grow up and enter adolescence.

Now, it’s no surpise to hear that no matter how much we want to turn the clock back and erase all the crappy things that have happened to us in our past, we can’t. It’s impossible. But what is possible, and what I encourage you to devote every single day to, is creating a better tomorrow. I want you to wake up and worry a little less and live a little more. Your struggles are what help you to grow. They make you, you.

Don’t dwell on the past, for you are still so young. You still have the whole world ahead of of you. There are songs you are yet to sing, laughs you are yet to laugh and dreams you are yet to dream. You were put on this earth for a reason, so stop hiding yourself away. Get out there and experience all that this wonderful world has to offer. Make your younger self proud. You are worth it.

  1. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appearance. I must say you have done a superb job with this. Also, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Safari. Superb Blog!
