Hold a shell to your ear
and you will hear
what you assume to be
the sea.
Except,
its not the sea,
despite it mirroring it.
What it really is, in fact,
is the echo of the swirling of blood inside your own head.
Where:
Within the shells, our bodies echo.
Within the shells, you hear the sea
because we are the sea.
What constitutes the sea
(water and salt)
it also constitutes us.
We are in and of everything.
