Feeling sad/
lonely/
angry/
anxious/
or any other ‘unpleasant’ feeling,
is an indicator,
sent directly from your head to your body,
or,
from your body to your head
(whichever way you want to look at it- the specifics aren’t important at this stage)
that something in your life just
‘isn’t quite right.’
You can read all the self-help books in the world,
but,
if you don’t address the ‘problem’ head on,
then it will persist.
So,
next time you’re feeling a bit
‘off’,
give yourself the time,
(and the space),
to figure it out-
to figure out why you feel sad today,
because,
chances are,
the reason lies much deeper than the ‘surface level’ problems which you convince yourself are responsible:
getting caught in the rain without an umberella,
dogs putting muddy pawprints on the floor,
phone battery running out,
etc,
etc.
It is only when you’re able to identify the real source of your mental health struggles,
that you can finally start to heal.
