Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom in order to change.
Sometimes, that’s what it takes.
Because, ultimately, when you’re at your absolute lowest, there’s only one way to go from there, and that’s ‘up.’
To start over.
To rediscover yourself,
a process of unlearning and relearning
who you are,
what you like,
what you want to do with your life…
To find something important enough to justify the suffering that we all inevitably go through…
Because, what we do here matters, I still believe that.
We all need to find something that gives our life a sense of meaning,
a sense of purpose,
a ‘passion project.’
‘When you love what you do it’s called passion, when you don’t it’s called stress.’
Simon Sinek.
Something that makes us feel good
and that helps us to feel like we’re contributing goodness to the world in equal measure,
doing our bit for humanity,
leaving a positive legacy…
‘Rock bottom became the solid foundation in which I rebuilt my life.’
J.K.Rowling

It is for this reason, because I have felt rock bottom myself, that these past 6 months have been the most transformative of my life.
An opportunity for growth,
a catalyst for transformation
and personal evolution,
my identity has shifted.
I feel more at peace with who I am-
Politics,
sexuality,
gender.
I know who I am, for what feels like the first time in my life.
Things are starting to make sense to me,
finally,
&
that feels so good.
~ depression as a fuel for passion.
